Easy Lasagna Rich Meat Cheese (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Lasagna Layer

01 - 9 sheets lasagna noodles, either classic or instant cook

→ Cheesy Middle

02 - 500 g cottage or ricotta cheese
03 - 1 whole egg
04 - 50 g grated parmesan cheese
05 - 250 g shredded mozzarella cheese

→ Meaty Red Sauce

06 - 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
07 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
08 - Salt and black pepper, up to your liking
09 - 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
10 - 1 onion, diced small
11 - 700 ml jarred or homemade tomato sauce
12 - 500 g minced pork or beef
13 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano

# Instructions:

01 - Let your oven warm up to 180°C first. If you’re using classic noodles, pop them into boiling, salted water, cook as the packet tells you, drain, and set aside.
02 - Toss in your ground pork or beef, sprinkle some salt and pepper, brown it well, then pour off any extra grease.
03 - Add in your tomato sauce, oregano, and basil next. Mix everything up and let it bubble over low heat for about 5 to 7 minutes so the flavors really come together.
04 - Crack the egg into a bowl with ricotta or cottage cheese. Sprinkle a pinch of salt, pepper, and mix it smooth.
05 - Heat up olive oil in a big frying pan. Soften the chopped onion for about 3 minutes then stir in that garlic for one more minute.
06 - Grab a 23×33 cm pan, spread a little bit of saucy meat on the bottom. Lay 3 noodles down, dollop with a third of the cheesy stuff, then some meat sauce, then mozzarella. Keep stacking up – three times total. Pour whatever’s left of the sauce on top and shower it with parmesan last.
07 - Cover everything with foil, then bake it for 25 minutes. Take the foil off and let it cook another 10 to 15 minutes till it looks golden and bubbly.
08 - Give it 10 minutes on the counter to settle before you slice it up. Dig in while it’s warm.

# Notes:

01 - Instant noodles make things easy but remember to slosh some extra sauce in so it stays moist while cooking.
02 - Want it even creamier? Try swapping ricotta for a simple homemade white sauce instead.
03 - Sautéed spinach or some diced veggies make it healthier and shake things up.
04 - It tastes even bolder after a night in the fridge. Will last chilled for three days tops.
