Classic Meatloaf (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Meatloaf

01 - 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef (or beef/pork blend)
02 - 1 cup diced onion, chopped small
03 - 3/4 cup bread crumbs (or panko crumbs)
04 - 1/3 cup milk (broth or water)
05 - 2 eggs
06 - 1 teaspoon tomato paste
07 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
09 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
10 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ For the Glaze

11 - 3/4 cup ketchup
12 - 1 tablespoon white vinegar

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
02 - Add the lean ground beef, finely chopped onion, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and tomato paste to a large bowl. Mix it together really well.
03 - Create a loaf shape by forming with your hands or by packing the beef mixture into a greased loaf pan and then flipping it over onto the baking sheet. Remove the loaf pan and it will create the perfect loaf shape.
04 - Bake the meatloaf uncovered and without the sauce topping for 40 minutes.
05 - While the meatloaf is cooking, mix together the ketchup and white vinegar. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the ketchup mixture along the top and sides.
06 - Bake uncovered for another 10 minutes or until fully cooked inside.
07 - Once cooked, let the meatloaf sit for 10 minutes to allow the juices inside the meatloaf to distribute evenly. Slice into pieces and serve.

01 - Can use beef/pork blend for more flavor
02 - Resting for 10 minutes is essential for juicy meatloaf
03 - Loaf pan method creates perfect shape
04 - Milk can be substituted with broth or water
