Bake in the warmed-up oven for around 30 to 40 minutes. Check that the topping turns golden and crisp.

Drizzle the cheese mixture all over the cabbage. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top so it’s all covered.

Layer your chopped cabbage into the dish so it’s spread out.

Slowly add the milk, never stop whisking till it’s thick. Stir in the cheese till it melts completely. Don’t forget to add salt and pepper.

Heat the butter in a pan on medium. Throw in the flour and stir it up for a minute or two.

Switch the oven on to 175°C or 350°F. Let it heat up while you prep everything else.
