Easy Scalloped Cabbage Indulgence (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - Chop up one medium cabbage head

→ Cheese Sauce

02 - Toss in a pinch of black pepper
03 - Add salt if you like
04 - 1 cup of your favorite shredded cheese
05 - Pour in 2 cups whole milk
06 - Scoop in 2 tablespoons flour
07 - Pop in 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

→ Topping

08 - Grab a half cup of breadcrumbs

# Instructions:

01 - Bake in the warmed-up oven for around 30 to 40 minutes. Check that the topping turns golden and crisp.
02 - Drizzle the cheese mixture all over the cabbage. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top so it’s all covered.
03 - Layer your chopped cabbage into the dish so it’s spread out.
04 - Slowly add the milk, never stop whisking till it’s thick. Stir in the cheese till it melts completely. Don’t forget to add salt and pepper.
05 - Heat the butter in a pan on medium. Throw in the flour and stir it up for a minute or two.
06 - Switch the oven on to 175°C or 350°F. Let it heat up while you prep everything else.

# Notes:

01 - Throw on some fresh thyme or chopped chives for a little extra flavor kick.
02 - Tastes great next to stuff like roasted chicken or steak.
03 - Stick leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge and finish within three days.
