Lemon Ginger Shots (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice, squeezed
02 - 1 pound turmeric, washed and cleaned
03 - 1 tablespoon avocado oil
04 - 2 teaspoons whole black peppercorns
05 - 1 pound ginger, scrubbed
06 - About 1 cup water (just enough to get things blending smoothly)

# Instructions:

01 - Thoroughly clean both the ginger and turmeric with a vegetable brush or your hands. There's no need to peel them.
02 - Toss the turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and water into a large blender or juicer. Blend until you get a wet, pulpy mix. You might need to do this in several goes.
03 - Press the blended mixture through a fine strainer over a bowl. Use a spatula to help push the liquid out. Repeat the straining a couple of times until it's smooth.
04 - Stir the lemon juice into the strained liquid, along with the avocado oil, until it's well blended.
05 - Pour the juice into small vials or large jars. Keep them in the fridge for up to seven days, or freeze in small portions to use later in drinks or smoothies.

# Notes:

01 - The flavors in these shots are bold and zesty with the heat of black pepper, turmeric, and ginger. If you'd like it sweeter, try adding a bit of elderberry syrup.
02 - When serving, you can sprinkle a pinch of fresh black pepper on each shot for a more even spice kick.
