# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 16-ounce pack of extra firm or super firm tofu
02 - 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
03 - 1/3 cup regular or plant-based milk (plain)
04 - 1/3 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
05 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
08 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika powder
09 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
10 - Cooked rice to serve with
11 - Chopped green onions for topping
12 - Toasted sesame seeds for sprinkling

→ Sauce

13 - 1/3 cup soy sauce or tamari (choose low sodium if possible)
14 - 1/3 cup honey
15 - 1/3 cup water
16 - 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
17 - 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
18 - 2–3 minced garlic cloves
19 - 1–2 teaspoons spicy chili garlic paste (optional)
20 - 2 teaspoons cornstarch
21 - Tiny pinch of salt

# Instructions:

01 - Turn on your oven to 450°F. Spray a big baking sheet with cooking spray, then put it aside.
02 - Mix the flour, milk, and spices in a big bowl until smooth. Chop the tofu, toss it into the bowl, and stir it around until it’s covered in batter.
03 - Dump the panko breadcrumbs over the battered tofu and gently mix till everything’s covered. Press the crumbs into the tofu as needed for an even coat.
04 - Lay the crumb-coated tofu pieces on your baking sheet in one layer. Spray the tops with a little more cooking spray. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
05 - While the tofu’s baking, mix all the sauce ingredients in a jar or bowl. Heat the sauce in a large pan at medium heat, stirring, until it thickens and sticks to the back of your spoon (about 3–5 minutes).
06 - Toss the baked tofu into the warm pan and stir it around until each piece gets coated in sauce. Turn off the heat, and if you like, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
07 - Dish up the tofu with some rice or your favorite grain and maybe some veggies on the side.

01 - Want crispy tofu? Press it well beforehand to get rid of extra water.
